a tale of woe....

When I saw the reason why Scott's bike wouldn't start, I figured I had to share this with you all:
I coach my 6 yr old's T-ball team (for the Europeans, T-ball is a little kid's version of baseball- the ball isn't thrown and hit, it is hit off a stand that holds it at about waist height). The usual drill is that I ride home after work, change into athletic attire, load the family into the van, and it's off to the game we go. But a couple days ago, I was running late, so I phoned my wife and asked her to just meet me there. I rode to the field, parked "the Piglet," and went to the game. The field is at large complex with 10 or 12 games going on at the same time. At the end of our game I walked back to the parking lot. There were roughly a gozillion 5 and 6 year olds looking at my bike (and about half that many parents attempting to keep them from touching it!). Anyway, like the knucklehead that I am, I get on, and roar off down the road (without checking anything), much to the delight of the little tykes who think I'm James Dean, Peter Fonda, and the Terminator all rolled into one. On the way home, just as I reached a lonely stretch of road with no gas station for a mile or two, the Piglet stutters and coughs, so I reach down to flip gasoline petcock to reserve.... And lo and behold, the little lads (God bless 'em) had already taken care of that for me!
So I got my first chance to push the Piglet about a mile to a gas station. It was about 80 degress out and extremely humid, I was on a road with no shoulder, and it was night time....
Anyway, I figured you all would heap sympathy on me... Boy was I glad that I wasn't riding a Goldwing or a Harley full-dresser!
